1、 Introduction to PSE Certification
PSE certification is a mandatory safety certification in Japan, used to prove that motor and electronic products have passed safety standards testing under the Japanese Electrical and Raw Material Safety Act (DENAN Law) or international IEC standards. The DENTORL Law of Japan stipulates that 498 products entering the Japanese market must pass safety certification. Among them, 165 Class A products should obtain a diamond shaped PSE logo, and 333 Class B products should obtain a circular PSE logo. Starting from April 1, 2001, the Electrical Product Control Law (DENTORL) has been officially renamed as the Electrical Product Safety Law (DENAN). Unlike previous regulatory systems that require contractual controls, the new system will involve unofficial agencies to ensure product safety.

2、 PSE certified product range
The 165 types of Class A products are as follows:
Wire and cable, fuse, wiring equipment (electrical accessories, lighting appliances, etc.), current limiters, transformers, ballasts
Electric heating appliances, electric power application machinery appliances (household appliances), electronic application machinery appliances (high-frequency hair removal devices)
Other electrical and mechanical appliances for AC use (electric shock insecticides, DC power supply devices), portable engines
333 Class B products are divided into 7 parts:
1. Simple wiring sleeves and junction boxes;
Simple single-phase motor between 2.100V-300V;
3. Household electric heating products;
4. Household electric or gaming products;
5. Civil or household products that use light sources;
6. Household and commercial electronic products;
7. Other electrical products between 100V-300V.
3、 PSE certification requires preparation of materials
1. Application submission materials: business license, application form;
2. Test preparation materials:
1) CB report (including differential testing in Japan);
2) Layout;
3) PCB design drawings related to safety regulations;
4) Specifications for transformers and coil components;
5) List of key components and their certificates;
6) Japanese user manual or assembly manual;
7) Japanese nameplates and warning signs (including PSE signs and notified supplier names);
8) Structural data sheet;
9) List and calibration certificate of equipment used in factory production.
3. Provide samples for testing: at least two main inspection models and one derivative model each.
4、 Validity period of PSE certification certificate
Class A diamond has 3, 5, and 7 years of age (depending on the product)
Class B circular products have 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years (depending on the product)
