AirPlay certification

What is AirPlay?

AirPlay is a wireless technology launched by Apple in the United States. AirPlay can transmit videos, audio, and images from devices such as iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to third-party certified devices, using Wi Fi as the transmission medium, which is fundamentally different from Bluetooth wireless.

How AirPlay Works

The common feature of mobile phones, computers, routers, and Airplay speakers is that they all support Wi Fi carriers, but having Wi Fi signals alone is not enough. We also need the addition of the Airplay protocol to let these devices know what they are transmitting. Airplay is the "language" between devices!

What can AirPlay do?

If you think Airplay can only be used to listen to music, then you are completely wrong. Airplay can not only transfer audio files, but also transfer files such as videos and photos to Apple TV and printers, all of which are recognized through the Airplay protocol.

Certification requirements that AirPlay accessories must meet:

1. Wi-Fi Alliance's "Wi Fi Certification" program;

2. Wi Fi Multimedia (WMM) authentication;

3. MFI certification
