CB certification

1、 Introduction to CB Certification

The CB Scheme is an international certification system established by the International Electrotechnical Commission's Organization for Testing and Certification of Electrical Products (IECEE), aimed at assisting participating countries and certification agencies in establishing multilateral agreements and mutual recognition of their respective test reports. Currently, this system has more than 50 member states. The National Certification Body (NCB) under the CB system tests your product in a laboratory approved by IEC. As long as the product meets the standards, it will issue a CB certificate and CB report file for the product; Customers can submit these documents to the National Certification Body (NCB) of any member country under the CB system to further apply for national certification licenses in that country.

3、 The role of CB certification

1. Can convert foreign certification certificates

If you have obtained the CB test certificate and CB test report, you can directly apply for certification certificates from other countries. The certification body of the applicant country reviews the CB test certificate and report (including reports related to country differences) (if necessary, a small amount of samples need to be provided). If the review result is qualified, you can obtain the country's certification without the need for additional testing in accordance with the applicant country's articles of association and procedural rules.

2. Can convert Chinese national certification certificate

According to the CB test report and differential test, issue a Chinese national product certification report to obtain compulsory or other voluntary certification certificates for electrical products in China.

3. Directly recognized or approved by other countries

With the CB test certificate and CB test report, your product can be directly exported to certain countries.

4. Save costs and time

Before applying for foreign certification, if a domestic enterprise applies for a CB testing certificate in China, as the testing is conducted in a domestic CB testing laboratory, it not only saves a lot of costs, but also saves the turnover time for sample and document delivery. Domestic enterprises can obtain a CB testing certificate as soon as possible;

5. Increase the assurance of product testing passing

If the enterprise has obtained the CB test certificate and all or most of the CB test results are recognized when applying for certification from other countries, it can be exempted or reduced from sending samples for testing, which also saves time and costs; More importantly, the products applying for certification have undergone CB testing in China, which increases the confidence of the products passing the differential testing.

4、 Materials to be prepared for CB certification

1. Product user manual.

2. Safety design documents (including key structural drawings, which can reflect the climbing distance, gap, number of insulation layers, and thickness of the design drawings).

3. Product technical conditions (or enterprise standards).

4. Product electrical schematic diagram.

5. Product circuit diagram.

6. List of key components or raw materials (please choose products with European certification marks).

7. Copy of the certification certificate for the entire machine or component.

8. Other necessary information.

Remarks:

1. The relevant documents and materials must be in both Chinese and English.

2. To shorten the certification cycle, it is best to provide information in electronic document format.

During the certification process, for some special circumstances, the enterprise may need to submit additional relevant information.

5、 CB Certification Application Process

The applicant can be a manufacturer or its agent/agency. The application can cover one or more factories in one or several countries where the product is manufactured. Note: According to the requirement that the applicant will be the holder of the CB certificate, if the applicant is the manufacturer's agent, the holder of the CB test certificate will be the manufacturer's agent.

The applicant shall fill out the "Pre Application Letter for CB Test Certificate of Electrical Products", which includes the following contents:

1. The name and address of the applicant;

2. If the applicant is not a manufacturer, the name and address of the manufacturer should be provided;

3. The name and address of one or more factories that manufacture the product;

4. Product name, specifications, models, and identification;

5. Registration certificate of the applicant (initial application);

6. Technical information of the product (if necessary);

7. Contact person's mailing address, phone number, and fax number.

The CB issuing agency will review the application materials, and after accepting the application, the applicant will receive a formal "CB Testing Application Form". The CB Test Application Form is required to be filled out in English in duplicate.
